Veneers are thin tooth coloured facings to cover teeth that are chipped, discoloured, mal-aligned and sometimes to fill gaps between teeth.
Veneers can be made of either porcelain or composite resin.
Composite resin veneers are cheaper alternative to porcelain veneers. The procedure involves removing a thin layer of enamel and then bonding and shaping composite resin to the teeth. The composite veneers can be polished to have a natural appearance and require regular dental monitoring and maintenance.
Porcelain veneers are done in 2-3 visits, relatively expensive but longer lasting compared to composite resin veneers .The procedure also involves removing a thin layer of enamel from front and sides of teeth.
